Delivering to your Home in time for Christmas

Delivering to your Home in time for Christmas

With Christmas around the corner, many people start thinking about their home. We fully understand that most people want their furniture delivery in time for the festive season. With so much demand at this time of year, it raises the question about whether companies have the capacity to deliver on time. At Cousins, we strive to deliver orders safely to your home and in time for Christmas with no concerns. Thanks to our wealth of experience, we have taken steps to ensure we are Christmas delivery ready.

Over the years, our operations and warehouse staff have seen significant changes. With the roads getting ever-busier and distribution methods shifting, Cousins have adapted and moved with the times. Earlier this year, we welcomed a brand new fleet of delivery vans. Wrapped with refreshed branding, the vans are streamlined and more road-efficient. They are still able to transport almost the same volume as the existing 7.5 tonne vehicles.

We have made improvements at all angles, opting for barn-style doors instead of roller shutters. These are time-saving and enable our drivers to open the van easier. With increased vehicle numbers, we can now deliver almost twice as many items. Our premium white glove service incorporates new and improved safety measures. All drivers have a new Covid safe uniform, meeting requirements at all levels. We deliver to your door with not just speed, but also with care.

Since lockdown, many people have taken to home improvements, having a positive impact on furniture demand. With such a huge surge, we’re working around the clock to guarantee that we fulfil all orders in time for Christmas. Our delivery and warehouse teams are operating six to seven days a week, as opposed to the normal five. The increases in capacity have allowed us to deliver over 50% more furniture than last year, with scope to increase even further.

We have a proven track record and expertise in this field, with our Warehouse Manager Mike having been with us for over 30 years. The majority of the other staff have also been part of the company for more than 10 years. Since lockdown, we’ve bucked the downward retail trend, opening new stores in Shrewsbury and Newcastle, having acquired the former Alan Ward stores, making us comfortably the largest family-run furniture retailer in the Midlands. We are regularly delivering as far west as the Welsh coast (restrictions permitting) and as far north as the Lakes.

Our warehouse space has also massively increased, with distribution centres in Birmingham, Manchester and now the recently acquired Shrewsbury site. We have over 100,000 square feet of storage capacity. This gives us a further competitive edge, in being able to bulk purchase stock, enabling us to offer express and immediate delivery options on many items. With all of this in place, we’re geared up more than ever for the Christmas rush.
