British Craftsmanship
Kidderminster was once the heart of the carpet industry. By the 1600s, a wool-based cloth industry developed. But it was during the Industrial Revolution in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century that saw the industry boom due to the increasing population and economic growth. Kidderminster carpets were soon found in stately homes and prestigious locations around the world.
Brockway is proud of its heritage. British craftsmanship is at the heart of its business, with carpet making expertise and knowledge being carried forward by generations of staff.
Another point of pride for Brockway is the use of high quality British wool. Wool is good in carpets because it provides a soft and luxurious feel underfoot which just can’t be beaten. Wool is not only hard wearing, but also has great insulating and noise absorbing properties as well. It’s also sustainable, being 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable.
Because Brockway manufacture in their own factory, they have much greater control over the choice of materials and designs. Working with the country’s leading designers and colourists, they continually remain ahead of the trends.

Made of 100% undyed British wools in Herdwick’s uniquely natural pigmentation, the collections are available in neutral colourways to complement all schemes.
Warm and cosy underfoot, yet also incredibly hardwearing, the subtle textures provide a timeless luxury feel. Suitable for all rooms, staircases and landings in the home, the Lakeland Herdwick collection is the naturally discerning carpet of choice.
Brockway’s Dimensions carpets are made from 80% wool and 20% nylon. By using 80% wool and 20% nylon it gives a perfect blend of beauty and strength, visual appeal, and wearability - the wool gives exceptional softness while the nylon adds everyday toughness. Perfectly suited to a busy family home.
Their Rare Breeds carpets use 100% wool from British rare sheep breeds, no dyes whatsoever, and an enviro-bac backing. The Envirobac system is an eco-friendly carpet backing which makes it easier to transport and then to fit. Rare Breeds is inspired by the exceptional qualities of Britain's oldest and rarest breeds of hill sheep from which each carpet is made including – Kerry Hill, Cotswold, Norfolk Horn, Soay, Manx, Moorit, Balwen, Jacobs, Black Welsh and Ryeland.
