1. Which carpet should I choose?
Choosing the right carpet or flooring for your home will depend on many factors. You will need to consider which room you are looking to floor or carpet, and how it will suit your everyday lifestyle and needs. Think about who will be using it, and which out of the following is your main priority – price, luxury or durability.

They will start by asking you about the area of the room you need to cover, as well as the type of tread you will need.
To someone who does not work in the flooring industry this can seem like quite a complex question, but the general rule is the higher the ounce/weight of carpet per square metre, the more durable the carpet will be.
As a quick guide, a 30oz carpet would be more suitable for bedrooms or lightly used areas. A 40-60oz carpet will be much better to use in areas with heavier footfall, such as the hallway and living room.
If price is one of your biggest factors when choosing your new carpet, then you’ll need to invest in good quality underlay. Using the correct underlay will help to improve the comfort as well as the longevity of your carpet. Because of its return value, its best to save money on the carpet and spend more on the underlay.

2. Do you offer free fitting?
Cousins Furniture offers free planning and estimates, as well as free standard underlay on all carpets. There is a cost for fitting, however you are paying for a white glove delivery and fitting service from a member of the prestigious Flooring One group.
3. What is the fitting time?
The fitting time will depend on each manufacturer as well as the ease or complexity of your order.
If you are also ordering a sofa or bedroom furniture then the new flooring will need to be fitted first before the furniture. Cousins are more than happy to store your flooring or furniture for up to 8 weeks for free of charge to help accommodate with this.
4. What if I find it cheaper elsewhere?
