Think of classic designs in upholstery that is more modern in its concept. This can be done through fabrics, colours or simply just changing an arm shape, a classic scroll arm sofa in a modern fabric, colour or contrast piping. Chesterfields are a good example of how a classical piece of furniture can be re invented. Occasional furniture could be selected from classic pieces such as drinks trolleys, side tables, consoles or coffee tables but having a modern finish or unusual textures but as with traditional styling the overall finish is more thought through with furniture finishes matching but in a modern context.
