Traditional Living
Comfortable and yet slightly formal, traditional living will have gentle curves, skirting, piping wingbacks and buttoned backs matching in colour and patterns. Patterns such as floral, damasks, toile, paisleys, chinoiserie and stripes will repeat in the soft furnishings with heavy layered drapes, pelmets and valances possibly used with coordinating wallpapers. Wooden furniture in deep warm tones of mahogany, oak, cherry and walnut will all match and have accents of brass, bronze or a satin finish. A Kilim, Persian or Oriental rug would be suited in matching hues to the room.
